STEPS TO MAKE YOUR SPLASH PAGE WITH YOUR OWN PICTURE IN IT!
Go to http://yola.com
(Make sure to open it in a new tab/window to keep these easy steps visible at all times). Sign up and create your account, click on "start for free" at the bottom right corner. On the next screen, you maybe given a choice of templates to choose from - choose "Start with a blank template"at the bottom. Give your website a suitable name and input your contact info.
On the next screen,delete the different ready images/text boxes by clicking the x mark at the top right corner of each, so that you can start with a 'blank page'.
You will see 4 items at the bottom - Layouts, Style, Font and Widgets.
Click on "widgets" and you will see some different widgets there (Text, Picture, HTML and Column Divider are the ones that we will use here).
1. Step to add text
Keep the text matter for your splash page ready on a separate page (preferably with the correct font, size and colour as you require)
Here is my sample capture page for your reference which I use for PTC sites:

DO NOT COPY ME! That is not good for either of us. Keep in mind that you are selling YOU! The ad can be as long or as short as you wish but it better be exciting!
Drag the widget "Text" just under the picture, drop it into the rectangle that will appear and now copy (right click) and paste your text matter. It is simple as that!
Click on the blue 'Save" icon to Save your changes.
Note: To insert a link, just highlight the text and when prompted for on clicking the 'link' button at the top, just type the url/email address you want to.
2. Step to add your own picture
Click and drag the "Picture" widget into the rectangle that says "to get started, ....." then you will be asked to upload your picture. Click Upload a picture then just browse and select your picture stored on your computer and click either ok, continue or open; your picture will be uploaded automatically.
Again, click on the blue 'Save'icon to Save your changes.
Important:
There is one more important step that needs to be done and that is adding html code to your capture page. (How to get your html code from your autoresponder is explained in Step3 - "Setting-up your autoresponder) Just drag and drop the html code icon in the menu at the top to the place you wish to place your subscription form and just paste the html code of your autoresponder.
Do not forget to Save your changes by clicking the '"Save" icon at the top.
3. Next Step - Publishing your site -
Now just click "Publish to the web" (the blue tab on the top) to get your site published.
In the next screen, you will see 2 lines -
1) Search for a custom domain
2) Not ready yet? Try free Yola subdomain
Choose the free subdomain option (this is the free option) and it shows as subdomain available
On the next screen, you will see
Congratulations
Your site has been published to the web!
Your url will then be like
Don't forget to write down in a separate piece of paper (or whatever is easier for you) the URL for your website starting with http:.....
Click "Close"
(You can click "Get Started For Free" if you wish to have more customers to your website from Site Wit before closing).
Click on your link for a preview (Changes made will take a few minutes to get loaded).

Note: When you log-in to yola.com later if you wish to create a new site, you have to check the box at the bottom against "blank site"and then "build it".
Useful Tip:
You can adjust the size and font of the text in the Style Designer.
The Style Designer can be accessed by going to Style > Style Settings > Style Designer.
For example, if you want to underline a sentence, use a header for just your sentence (under Paragraph, select heading 6 for example) and then change the attributes of this heading from the Style Designer. In the Style Designer, select fonts, then sixth header , then text decoration and then underline. Save it.
You can see the sentence is underlined when you Save and Publish!
